Clay Handbuilding

$150.00 Inc GST

Sun 24th Oct 2021 | 9am-12pm

In this 3-hour workshop Celeste will guide you with her wealth of experience and knowledge through all the skills and techniques you need to create a stunning collection of hand built clay vessels (approx 1-4 depending on the size you choose). These may include your choice of tea cup, mug, small vase, dish or bowl.

Celeste will demonstrate and explain step by step, in detail all the ceramic hand building skills, knowledge and techniques needed to create your collection of work, such as creating pinch pots, coils and slabs to create various forms and shapes (be it as conservative or funky as you like!), as well as working with clay tools to create stunning surface textures and designs.

She will provide you with all the resources you need to feel confident to begin making yourself. Throughout the class Celeste will move around the room and provide as much assistance and guidance that you feel you need to master the techniques learnt.

You will leave your ceramic pieces to be fired twice and glazed in a beautiful milky white ready to collect approx 4 weeks later (you will be contacted when they are ready for collection).

Absolutely no experience is necessary.

An apron and all quality art materials provided, as well as some yummy nibbles and refreshments. (Just bring yourself!)

Location: Podium Way, Oran Park
